The Memphis Socialist Party, a local chapter of the Socialist Party-USA, was established in October 2008. The SP-USA is a multi-tendency revolutionary socialist organization committed to radical democracy, which rejects the current system where all workers are exploited in the name of profit; production is ever-increasing along with manufactured consumer demand despite finite resources; distribution of goods and services is irrationally unequal; and where our system of economic oppression reinforces racism, sexism, heterosexism, and all forms of bigotry, creating false divisions among the people.
